Welcome to the site for the Lakeshore Districts Conference of Alcoholics Anonymous 2018!
The 2018 Conference was a great success. Keep this site bookmarked to receive updates for the 2019 conference!
Message from the Committee:
Your 2018 Lakeshore Districts Conference Committee is a perfect mixture of enthusiastic and organized and we are well on our way to planning a very exciting day themed ‘A Better Way’. As a celebration of the awesome AA Fellowship in Durham Region, the annual Lakeshore Districts Conference is an event not to be missed so please make sure you have August 10, 11 and 12 marked in your calendar to help us celebrate!
We are not a glum lot and you could help us by:
- Volunteering your time: There are commitments available assisting with greeting, registration, food prep and selling tickets and drinks. It is a great opportunity to see some familiar faces and hopefully make some new friends. To get started, drop us a line!
- Bringing a potluck dish: There’s no better way to reap the benefits of A.A. fun and fellowship than through the experience of FOOD! It is so rewarding to see the buffet come together through the generosity of the membership, watching everyone enjoying it together and heading back into the conference with that satisfied look on their faces after a scrumptious plate of dessert.
- Purchasing a ticket in advance: This is especially true of the banquet tickets as they are limited and not guaranteed to be sold on the weekend itself. This is also important for the committee to have the funds in advance for the conference expenses. See Tickets.
- Donating a Big Book: You will not want to miss watching new members receive a Big Book throughout the celebration of sobriety in AA.
If you have any questions, accessibility concerns or require a vegetarian or gluten-free meal for the banquet, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
If you would like to purchase an additional ticket for a member who could not otherwise have one or know someone who may need one, please also let us know.
